Hi, there!  Thanks for checking out my site. I thought I’d let you know a little about me, so you knew where I came from, what I do, and what makes me excited to go to work every day.  So, here goes:

I’m Scott Hedberg, the founder/top dog at Hedberg Search.  Started my career as an investment professional, so I’m no stranger to understanding what makes your business tick.  Results.  And before that, I was a paper boy, altar boy, lawn boy…so I’m no stranger to hard work, too. For the past 25+ years, I’ve been having a blast in the executive search business, helping my client partners grow their businesses through the acquisition of some amazing talent.

I thrive on partnering with companies who are looking for more than just your run of the mill search consultant, but looking for someone who is supremely focused on great results.  And knowing that companies with the best talent win, working with me will ensure you always find the best talent and achieve tremendous results.

I consider myself highly accountable, famously candid, deeply curious, focused, persistent, strategic, and most of all, grateful.  Since losing my son/business partner to a skiing accident, time has become more precious than ever before.  So, I work incredibly hard to form true, lasting, meaningful partnerships with my clients.  And I’m grateful for every partnership that I’ve been able to create with Hedberg Search.

• I love my yoga, meditation, sound bowls, gong baths. They help me calm the mind and keep focused on what’s important.
• So enjoy biking the chain of lakes in Minneapolis, and after 10 years, I took up bag boxing again.
• I love to travel. Anywhere and everywhere I can. Always seeking that next adventure.
• I smile a LOT. Life’s too short not to be happy and make others happy.
• I work smart, so I can have a great work/life balance.
• I LOVE vegetables. Gotta keep my body in balance, and it helps with finding all that great talent!
• I’m a graduate of Winona State University and served on the Winona State Business Advisory Board for years. Loved giving back to my alma mater.

• Never smoked a cigarette, had a cup of coffee, or eaten a White Castle burger.
• Favorite cocktail is an Old Fashioned at Mr. Paul’s Supper Club from Sophia the bartender with the relish platter to share.
• Summer of 2020 was introduced to Pickle Ball by high school buddies, love it. What a great social game that kept me sane during the lockdown.
• Favorite scenic view, sleeping under the stars in the Sahara desert/Morocco.
• My favorite vacation spot is wherever I’m heading on my next trip! I’m planning for Peru in spring of 2024, Glacier National Park in summer of 2024, and hoping for Mongolia in summer of 2025. Open to recommendations!

Larry Keen, Senior Vice President

Greetings! I’m Larry Keen, a retained search professional since 2006, placing C-level, senior leadership, and management professionals in companies across the country. I am grateful to so many individuals who have made deep-seated impressions on me and who have helped shape my understanding of the things in life that matter.

I have been fortunate in my travels to have had the opportunity to work with leaders and their teams as a valued partner, and to make an impact as an adviser when it counts. Understanding their organization and needs and helping them secure top talent make my world go ‘round.

Prior to my talent acquisition career, I had successful, long-term experiences in operations management within two divisions of a Fortune 500 company—serving financial institutions and high-tech, digital capital equipment manufacturing.

Having deep roots in leading search engagements in the financial services sector, one of my passions is branding (both internal and external). I’ve been honored to speak at national financial services conferences on this topic and its significance relating to executive searches.

My wife, Patti, and I live in the Twin Cities and have three adult children and three young grandsons. I thoroughly enjoy domestic travel, music, sports, and the outdoors.

• I have traveled to 34 states plus D.C. so far, with a goal of visiting all 50 states.
• My wife and I met in Chicago when I was nine years old, and she was six (a story for another day).
• Including many close friends that date back to 5^th grade, I feel blessed with an incredible inner circle and network of individuals I can count on.
• My wife, Patti, and I have lived in the same home for decades and love our neighbors and community.

• Although we have no pets of our own, we dote on our 3 grandpuppies, Max, Zander, and Avery.
• With a love for football, I cheer on the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Kansas City Chiefs!
• I’m an avid reader, especially fond of suspense novels and anything written by John Grisham or William Kent Krueger.
• Patti and I love music of all kinds and have attended more concerts than is likely typical. We’re talking about going to New Orleans to hear some blues, and we welcome your ideas!
